France 2015
Our crossing 2015 was the Britanny Ferries 2-night Portsmouth to Bilbao. For us, this choice has several advantages - a relaxing full-day of hotel standard cruising, followed by a good night's rest in preparation for an early start the following day.
During the night, Norma fell asleep on her Kindle which, in protest, retired from active service, leaving her minus her planned holiday reading and waiting for the shop to open. My submission to the Tate Modern is entitled 'Kindle with Boob Print'. So far, we haven't received a reply from them.

On day 2, Chantal (our SatNav) guided us through the slow-moving heavy traffic to exit Bilbao and onto the motorway network en route for France.
By-passing Biarritz, Pau and Lourdes, we arrived at Luz-St-Sauveur (our third visit) and were pleased to find that Charlie and Tess were, again, the Eurocamp Couriers. Luz is high in the Pyrenees, very close to the Col du Toumalet the thought of which must strike fear into most Tour de France competitors. At weekends, the roads become packed with racing cyclists indulging their fantasies of Fausto Coppi, Jacques Anquetil and (dare I whisper it) Eddy Merckx. Moving on ...
After 6 nights at Luz, we headed for the Dordogne, staying at Daglan (near Domme, south of Sarlat), for a full week.

The Atlantic Coast: MessangesWe have been to Messanges several times, either travelling to or from the Spanish ports. This time, we were heading for home, via Santander. This was a no-option choice because of the departure and arrival times.
This time, we'd arranged a 5-night visit, designed to bring our holiday to a relaxing conclusion. The link to the Landes Atlantique gallery is in the picture. NOT YET LINKED TO GALLERY |
